Sunrise safari. Return to the lodge for breakfast. At the scheduled time, transfer to Skukuza or Mpumalanga airport for a regular flight to Cape Town. Arrival and private transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation.

Cape Town

Breakfast. Free day to explore the city at your own pace. Optionally, we recommend visiting the Cape Peninsula. Visiting the Cape of Good Hope is almost a must. It's a place with a unique atmosphere. Perhaps it’s due to its stunning beauty, the breathtaking landscape, its legend of being wild and untamable, the waves crashing against the rocks, or the untamed sea that earned it the nickname "Cape of Storms." Visiting the Cape is a deeply moving experience. Not even the best camera in the world can capture the sublime beauty of this place. For this reason, we recommend taking the cable car (or alternative transportation if it’s closed) to fully appreciate the magnificence of this place in all its glory. Accommodation.

Cape Town

Free day to enjoy this extraordinary city at your own pace or relax at the majestic hotel that is our home during these days. The Silo is a sanctuary in the city that celebrates art, style, and design. This architectural masterpiece rises above the V & A Waterfront, defined by its gleaming glass windows that offer panoramic views stretching from Table Mountain to the Table Bay harbor. Our luxury accommodation occupies six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), which houses the largest collection of contemporary African art on the continent. Accommodation.

Cape Town - Matjiesfontein (Half Board)

Breakfast. Private transfer to the train station to begin our fantastic journey culminating in Pretoria. Step aboard the vintage wooden coaches and relax as some of the most varied landscapes imaginable unfold beyond the windows. With discreet and friendly service, the finest cuisine, and a selection of South Africa’s best wines, Rovos Rail harkens back to a simpler and more elegant era, embracing the timeless grace and romance of African exploration. The beautifully restored coaches carry a maximum of 72 passengers in 36 magnificently appointed suites. At 4:30 PM, we’ll enjoy an afternoon tea in the lounge or observation cars. At 7:30 PM, we’ll have dinner in the dining cars as the train begins its ascent up the mountainside. Remember that the dress code for dinner is "formal." Around midnight, the train will pass through the first of four tunnels in the pass. The last tunnel is over 13 km long, so travelers are advised to take precautions. Overnight on board.

Matjiesfontein - Karoo (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, we’ll disembark in Matjiesfontein for an opportunity to stroll through this historic village. Of special interest are the museum on the platform and a collection of historic cars and railway coaches. Back on the train, we’ll travel through a vast semi-desert region that was once a massive inland sea. Over millions of years, volcanic material was ground down and deposited as silt on the sea floor to form what geologists call the Karoo system. Dinner and overnight on board.

Karoo - Kimberley (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a tour of the Kimberley Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole. The capital of the Northern Cape, Kimberley is well known for the discovery of diamonds that led to its establishment in 1871. Lunch on board as the train continues northeast toward Klerksdorp and the wide plains of the Highveld. Dinner and overnight on board.

Kimberley - Pretoria - Johannesburg - City of Origin

Breakfast. The train will arrive at Pretoria station, marking the end of our train journey. We’ll enjoy a half-day English-speaking tour of Pretoria. At the scheduled time, transfer to Johannesburg airport for a flight to the city of origin, via an international stopover. Overnight on board.
