Pretoria - Graskop (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast. Private transfer to the Rovos train station to begin our fantastic journey culminating at Victoria Falls. Let’s board the vintage wooden carriages and relax as some of the most varied landscapes imaginable unfold beyond the windows. With discreet and friendly service, the finest cuisine, and a selection of South Africa's top wines, Rovos Rail harks back to a simpler, more elegant era, embracing the timeless grace and romance of African exploration. The beautifully rebuilt carriages carry a maximum of 72 passengers in 36 superbly appointed suites. We will depart from Rovos' private station in Pretoria and travel towards the hard coal mining area of eMalahleni and Middelburg, known as the "stainless steel capital of Africa". We will have the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant tea in the lounge or observation carriages. The dress code for dinner is "formal." Overnight on board.

Graskop - Kruger (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, we will disembark to enjoy a full-day excursion to the historic areas of Pilgrim’s Rest, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and Graskop. The Graskop Gorge Lift (not included. Direct payment) will take us down the gorge slope into the forest, where wooden walkways and suspension bridges wind along a 600m trail through the indigenous forest with an interactive exhibition. Back on the train, we will depart for Malelane. Pilgrim's Rest is a living museum and has been declared a National Monument. Dinner and overnight on board.

Kruger - Maputo (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, departure to enjoy a full-day safari in Kruger National Park. Return to the train and depart for Mozambique. Dinner and accommodation.

Maputo - Eswatini (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast and departure to enjoy a guided tour of Maputo, with lunch included. Return to the train to continue towards Eswatini. Dinner and overnight on board.

Eswatini - Kapama (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, we disembark at Mpaka and transfer to Swazi Candles to visit the Mantenga Cultural Village with lunch at Mantenga Lodge. The small Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) covers just 17,000 km². In April 2018, Swaziland changed its name to the Kingdom of Eswatini (meaning "place of the Swazis") and is an absolute monarchy. At Swazi Candles, we can interact with the artisans as they craft a variety of candles. Wood carvings, colourful textiles, and magnificent basketry are also on display. Mantenga Cultural Village is a living museum of ancient traditions, representing the classic 19th-century Swazi way of life. After lunch, return to the train and depart for Hoedspruit. Dinner and overnight on board.

Kapama - Limpopo (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast and departure to enjoy a safari in the Kapama Private Game Reserve followed by a visit to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. Return to the train and continue towards Limpopo. Dinner and accommodation.

Limpopo - Rutenga (All-Inclusive)

Day on board bound for Rutenga, Zimbabwe. We will cross the Limpopo province, which displays a varied landscape depending on the area: from tropical forests, savannah, to semi-desert areas, from mountains to plains. Limpopo is the only province in South Africa with more than two cultural groups living harmoniously in their original habitat. Overnight on board.

Great Zimbabwe - Antelope Park (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast and transfer to the Great Zimbabwe Monument for a visit with lunch. Located on the southeastern edge of the central plateau, it is the largest pre-colonial monument south of the pyramids of Egypt. We find ourselves amidst the ruins of an ancient city built by the Rozwi people. It is not only a celebrated achievement of the African people but also the place where magical fables like the story of King Solomon's Mines find their origin. Return to the train. Dinner and overnight on board.

Antelope Park - Bulawayo (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast and departure to enjoy a day at Antelope Park where we can enjoy optional direct payment experiences such as vehicle safaris, horseback safaris, bird-watching cruises, and much more. Located on over 1,200 hectares of open savannah, this reserve is a haven of peace that houses the world-famous "African Lion and Environmental Research Trust (ALERT)" lion rehabilitation program, an initiative working to ethically reintroduce captive-bred African lion cubs into the wild. Return to the train and continue towards Bulawayo. Dinner and overnight on board.

Bulawayo - Matopos - Hwange (All-Inclusive)

After breakfast, we will depart to enjoy an excursion to Matobo National Park with lunch. Visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, as well as the Bushmen caves. Matobo, meaning 'bald heads,' was the name chosen for the area by the Ndebele King, Mzilikazi. It is an apt description of the spectacular granite hills and rocks of this area. The park also houses the grave of Cecil John Rhodes on the summit of Malindidzimu, "hill of benevolent spirits." Return to the train to continue towards Hwange. Dinner and overnight on board.

Hwange - Victoria Falls (All-Inclusive)

Breakfast and early departure to enjoy a full-day safari in Hwange, with a picnic lunch. After the safari, return to the train to continue towards Victoria Falls. Tonight, we will enjoy a 1920s themed dinner. Overnight on board.
