Nestled in Mariña Lucense, on the border between Ribadeo and Barreiros. Depending on the state of the tide, its maximum length can reach 1,328 meters (low tide). Its beach is fine white sand unlike most of Lugo's coasts. Its waves are characteristic that has shaped much of its current composition where its appeal lies, considered as a natural monument. Its famous rock arches sculpted by the Cantabrian, commonly known as "pots", even reach 30 meters high. If the tide is low you will have the pleasure of walking under them and listening to the relaxing sound of the waves and the sea, which bounces against these rock formations. Its numerous vaults, arches and columns, which simulate these architectural elements, make it receive its characteristic name: Beach of the Cathedrals. Strolling along its banks is an experience that will make you feel at your feet on the ground, but your head will be in the same sky, that is, in the cathedral of the sea.

Its beauty and great conservation work make it have the prestigious Blue Flag award (awarded to the best beaches in Spain) and the Q for Tourism Quality. In addition to its impressive views and peculiar rock formations, its fauna and flora are equally spectacular.

Among the different species are pirlos on the banks, large number of seagulls flying over the coast, hoopoons or egrets (when spring comes) and migratory birds such as the gannet. The rocks are plagued with barnacles and mussels.

For all this, it is considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular beaches in Europe and the world.
